Original Designs for May 2018 by Katia Somerville

(above): Music, Motivation and Mastery - Perpetual motion of creative invention and dedication to excellence. Created for an upper arm or perhaps a thigh.
(above left) Celestine Citadel- Combined magic of solid structure and artistic expression. I am only interested in tattooing this piece on a male chest.
(above right) Flow with Change- Shifts enhance beauty when remaining unattached and flexible. I am open to arm placement.
(above left) Living on the Horizon- A melding of stepping into the light and hiding from it. I think this would look best on a forearm.
(above right) Bud and Bloom- Promise of hope through endurance of discomfort. Open to placement.

I am a fast tattoo artist, however the time it takes will depend on the canvas size and skin. I have put all larger designs in this month's newsletter, hoping to book larger projects that are more than one session. Thanks for your interest and for applying. <3 Katia
*These are original art works by Katia Somerville. With respect, please do not duplicate the designs, bring them to another tattoo artist nor post them online. All tattoos are one-time custom pieces that the artists have drawn with intention.

"I’m very blessed to join the Rainfire Tattoo magic makers once again and share in the sacred tattooing circle with You. These designs have been woven with intention to serve the harmonious rainbow alignment of your celestial and earthly Being. They burst forth with the wild winds that pull breath into new life; having called me to create an activation tattoo for You. These offerings intend to serve the gifts of each (plant or animal) medicine as a guide upon your Soul Journey." - Jacquelina Devina

This bear, a fierce guardian and protector, was inspired by a book that deeply affected the life path of the client. Completed over the course of two days, approx. 12 hours.
Manifestation mandala. Skipping forward along the stepping stones of synchronicity, the path unfolds.
A hidden keyhole for when she chooses to unlock her heart.
Honouring the fierce feminine.

Ornamental upgrade for my homie Marty's existing Flower of Life tattoo,
Crushed out a nice chunk of Deacon's familia mandala sleeve. The intensity and focus required with geometric / ornamental tattooing is intense.
We are the sum total of our relationships to each other and to the Earth.
For me, the feeling of vitality that comes with the Spring blossoms is intoxicating. This Winter was deep- rich, fertile insights oozing out of those dark days and nights. I'm grateful for all aspects of this Human experience. With that said, I'm ready for the celebration of life that is Spring!
The pinecone symbolizes the pineal gland - each section unfolding in a phi perfect spiral succession. I'm excited to be getting closer to wrapping up this sleeve project for Desire.
Something that has been really present for me recently is the power of breath. I have experienced some powerful breathwork sessions in a group, and one-on-one. For me, breathwork is a great way of letting go of anything weighing me down- I feel lighter and more alive after! I had the pleasure of finishing off the shading for the client's wrapping forearm hexagon piece.
One thing is certain in this uncertain world: we are all in it together. Thanks for the wonderful connection and conversation Allison

The meaning of this tattoo is to slow down and appreciate the moment, however this tattoo was done pretty fast- in 3.5 hours on Alisa's ribs. In the background (of the right photo), are artists Amelie Soucy and Felix Addison with their clients. It is amazing to see how much Rainfire Tattoo continues to grow over time and attract just the right people. Thanks Alisa, you sat so well through that tattoo.  ♥️Katia
Love to see a smile like this at the end of a tattoo. This design is called 'Sawubona'- It's a Zulu greeting translated to 'I see you'. About truly seeing people beneath the surface.   ♥️Katia
'Uniform of the heart' addition to Rob's sleeve. Protective armor, shining both inside and out. ♥️Katia
One of the March Mandalas based on the seven deadly sins. This one is called Pride and is a reminder to celebrate other's differences and recognize that it's the differences that make us unique and special in our own way.  ♥️Katia
This tattoo is called Avarice, and is a reminder to place more importance on things other than material wealth. Kevin's first tattoo and one of the seven deadly sin themed mandalas from the March newsletter. ♥️Katia
The weightlifting gold champion @caron2093 is a good friend of the studio, and has tattoos by at least 4 of our artists. She can also do handstand push-ups. Love watching your progress, Caron, and thanks for the inspiration to keep moving forward and loving yourself despite any setbacks. 'Follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.' - Joseph Campbell. ♥️Katia

What a blessing to do this piece on the loveliest client. Thank you for snagging this flash darlin! You were a breeze to tattoo!
I recently got my scuba diving certification while traveling in Bali and was lucky enough to see a few octopi, so when Christa approached me with the opportunity to create this piece for her I couldn’t have been more pumped and inspired by these brilliant creatures! My first ever octopus tattoo! I feel like it’s a right of passage as a tattoo artist to do one hehe! Thank you for sitting so well for this, Christa! I had so much fun with this.
